- Research: I read 5,871 Redbubble customer reviews online (resources) before I wrote this blog post.
You might have read online reviews about Redbubble.com yourself. And we all know that people have a tendency to complain versus compliment businesses when leaving online reviews. (I’m no exception.)
But that’s good! I love reading negative reviews! Then I know if I’m willing to handle whatever made them complain in the first place.
So, in this post, you might find that I focus on negative customer reviews. But this is to provide you with the information you need if you’re a cautious online shopper like me.
Please Note: Since the customer reviews I read dated back to 2011, I decided to focus on reviews written between 2017 and 2019. This focus will make sure that you are aware of the most current pros and cons.

1. Redbubble’s Customer Service Review
In older reviews, one thing I noticed were complaints about Redbubble’s customer service. Some shoppers complained that customer service was sometimes slow to reply to their messages. This included shoppers who used the site’s contact forms, Twitter, and Facebook. Some reviewers said it took a few days to get a reply.
Since December 2016, Redbubble started replying to negative reviews on Sitejabber and Trustpilot. They were very courteous, willing to resolve or clear up the issue, and replied within 24 hours.
I respect Redbubble’s effort in helping out their customers. It’s reassuring that customer service is so invested in their customers!

Excellent Customer Service
My order was delayed due to the holidays and possibly lost by the delivery company. I went to Redbubble on the online chat and told them my situation and they immediately (less than 5 minutes) understood and sent a replacement of the exact same product and it was delivered on time. What’s my overall impression of Redbubble’s customer service?
After reading 5,871 reviews, I believe that Redbubble makes an effort to make customers happy. This is especially evident when customers leave angry reviews online. Redbubble politely reaches out to these customers and offers to fix the problem.
Returns, Refunds, and Replacements
Once you receive your item, you have 90 days to submit a return.
Many reviewers who got faulty products received refunds or replacements without any difficulty.
But what happens if you order something that you love online, but dislike when you see it in real life? What if the color of the pillows doesn’t match the image on the website or you ordered a shirt that just doesn’t fit right? Reviewers in this situation also said they got a refund or replacement without difficulty.
2. Redbubble Price Reviews
I find most items on Redbubble.com are fairly priced, but some reviewers complained about prices.
Redbubble gives artists the freedom to markup each item they sell in their personal stores. Other e-commerce art sites sometimes restrict the artists’ ability to markup items, which keeps prices down.
When buying consumer products from art sites, you have to keep in mind that you are not only buying consumer products. You are also buying an artist’s work.
3. Redbubble Quality Reviews: What Went Wrong
Most customers had great things to say about the quality of the products they received. From reading all those reviews, it’s obvious to me that Redbubble is putting a real effort in bringing quality products to their customers. Great!
What about the stuff that went wrong?
I love to read what people don’t like about a company’s products and what really annoyed or angered them.
Is that so wrong?
I just believe that you can’t be a savvy shopper unless you know all the stuff that went wrong with previous customers.
So here are a few things to look out for when ordering from Redbubble.
Is Rebubble Good Quality?
A few reviewers mentioned the artwork printed on the items were either pixelated or blurry. The print quality on any of Redbubble’s items is going to be influenced by the image the artist uploaded to the site. Although this was a rare occurrence, if this happens to you, just ask Redbubble for a refund.

Canvas Art Prints
If you’re interested in buying a canvas print, please note that the print does not wrap around the sides of the canvas. This area will be left white.
The main complaint people had about the stickers were that they all have a 1/8th of an inch white border around them. This may or may not be an issue for you. Some people cut the white border with scissors.

Looking to buy a dress at Redbubble? If the dress is light in color, you might have to buy a slip because it might be a little see-through.
Also, some people complained that the dresses were a little short. So if you’re modest, you might want to think twice before you buy a dress from Redbubble!
If you can’t find a slip at stores near you, there are some really nice inexpensive slips on Amazon.
T-Shirts, Hoodies, and Other Clothing
I did read some complaints that the designs on the t-shirts and hoodies were coming off after washing. But those who washed their clothing according to the directions (in cold water and letting them hang dry) didn’t appear to have an issue at all.
So, if you don’t like taking special care of your clothing, Redbubble’s apparel might not be for you.
Another thing to keep in mind when ordering t-shirts and hoodies from Redbubble is that their sizing is considered “slim fit”. So make sure to check the sizing information on the product’s page. You might want to buy one size up if you want a looser fit.⇢ ⇢
Contact Customer Service With Any Complaints
If you receive a product that’s imperfect in any way or not to your liking, contact customer service. From all the reviews I’ve read, I’m convinced that Redbubble’s customer service will want you to be happy with the end result.

Redbubble.com displays shipping prices before you buy. All you have to do is add a product to your cart and select the destination country.
When buying anything from an e-commerce site, sometimes you get a little extra with your order.
But if you send a picture of your customs fees receipt, Redbubble will issue you a refund! How great is that?!!
All you have to do is:
- Pay the requested custom fee.
- Take a photo of the receipt clearly showing the amount paid.
- Submit your photo to Redbubble’s I Need a Customs Refund form.
- Receive your refund along with a confirmation email!
Where Does Redbubble Ship From?
Redbubble products are printed all over the world. They rely on a system of global shipping services.
How Long Does Redbubble Take to Ship Products?
Because of their made to order nature, most products take 3 business days to process before shipping. When ordering from Redbubble, please keep in mind that this processing time is not included in their shipping estimate.
You can find estimated delivery dates by:
- Adding an item to your shopping cart.
- Clicking on the shopping cart button, on the top right of every page.
- Make sure you select the correct destination country.
- Voila! You can see the expected delivery dates for Standard and Express Shipping* and the prices for each shipping service.
* Express shipping is not offered for every item and country.
Damaged or Lost Packages
There were some complaints about damaged or lost packages, many of which appeared to be the mail carrier’s fault. Unfortunately, shipping mishaps happen to all online stores.
When it comes to these unfortunate shipping situations, the real question is this:
If there is a problem with shipping, how will customer service fix the issue?
Fortunately, Redbubble was quick to replace damaged or lost orders. Just keep in mind that they won’t send replacement orders by Express shipping if your original order was sent by Standard shipping.
Redbubble doesn’t always provide tracking numbers with orders. Redbubble relies on UPS, FedEx, DHL, and USPS for their shipping services. They state that they want to get parcels to the customers as soon as possible.
Because products are printed in all corners of the world, we rely on a system of global shipping services that will get your order to your doorstep. Your order may change hands a few times so tracking might not always be available. – Redbubble Customer Service – 1/17/18 – Sitejabber
I still don’t understand this logic since all these shipping companies offer tracking numbers.
All I can think of is that they can’t provide taking numbers because of an automation/programming issue with their website.
… I really don’t know. This really got me stumped.
However, Redbubble does have a “Where is my order?” page that will help you find out your order’s estimated delivery date, tracking info (if applicable), and what items are in production or have shipped.
Redbubble Christmas Delivery
In December 2017 and early January 2018, the complaints about Redbubble were at an all-time high. It didn’t surprise me one bit since this happens to most e-commerce sites during the holidays.
Time Sensitive Orders + Christmas + Online Shopping + A Gazillion Online Shoppers = CRAZINESS!!!
So, as you probably already have guessed, the complaints were mostly from customers who didn’t get their orders in time for Christmas.
The holidays are a busy time of year for any successful online store. Redbubble included! Shipping companies and Customs can also get swamped during this time.
Here’s some advice from someone with tons of shipping experience…. If you’re buying gifts for Christmas on Redbubble (or anywhere online), shop EARLY.
Need to Buy a Gift and Get It ASAP?
When I need to buy a unique gift and time is limited (especially in December), I buy from Amazon.com (in the Amazon Handmade category).
Amazon is really reliable with their shipping, even during the holiday seasons.
Just make sure to buy your gift now! Don’t wait!
If you buy Christmas gifts from Redbubble, it’s a good idea to order by the beginning of November. This gives you PLENTY of time if there’s some kind of processing or shipping setback.
It’s possible to purchase something from Redbubble in December and receive it on time for Christmas. It’s just that I, personally, would not take the risk.
