Minted is now one of the best sites where I buy wall art.

But many people know Minted as the go-to place for everything stationery (including their popular, money-saving all-in-one wedding invitations).

So I thought I would take some time to read what 2600+ customers[RES] had to say about Minted and then summarize it all for you! (You’re welcome!)

From their customer service to the quality of their products, it’s all here in this 2020 Minted review!

I absolutely LOVE Minted! I have ordered their products MANY times for personalized teacher gifts, art prints, holiday cards, online invitations, etc. Their design assortment is top-notch! They are my ‘go-to’ for all my printing needs!

Intro: About This Review

Most of us know that people tend to complain versus compliment a business when they leave online reviews. That’s why I was really impressed when I saw so many great reviews about in 2019 and 2020 [RES].

But I’ll admit one thing…

…I love reading and focusing on negative reviews.

You can call me a pessimist, but before I shop online I like to know what customers DIDN’T like about a website, it’s products, and it’s customer service. With this info, I can make a better decision on whether or not I want to shop at a particular online store (or which products or services to avoid).

So, in this post, you’ll find that I focus more on negative customer reviews. This is so I can provide you with the information you need if you’re a cautious online shopper like me.

Please Note: Since the customer reviews I read dated back to 2009, I decided to focus on reviews written in 2019 and 2020. This focus will make sure that you are aware of the most current pros and cons.

Customer Service

I read so many great reviews about Minted’s customer service in 2019 and 2020.

But, I’ll be honest…

Some reviews about the customer service prior to 2019 made me hesitant to order anything from Minted. (I’m REALLY a nervous online shopper).

Now, in 2020, the reviews of Minted’s customer service (Wedding Wire) are MUCH more positive and I’ve just recently bought a few art prints from them without any issues.

Currently, many customers say that Minted’s customer service is fast to reply and very polite. And they also provide recommendations and help if you can’t get something just right with your order. Personally, this put me more at ease for buying anything on Minted.

So perhaps Minted is stepping up their game when it comes to customer service???

I think that customer service is really the backbone of any online business. You need an A+++ rating with customer service for me to even consider giving an online store any of my business.

Normally, I do not write reviews for companies but after seeing so many negative reviews on Trustpilot and Twitter, I wanted to share my experience. Minted has been nothing but amazing to work with. In the fall, I ordered my wedding save the dates and bridal shower invites through them. The process was seamless, everything came on time and correct, and the product was beautiful.

Fast forward to a few weeks ago when I ordered my entire wedding suite on Minted. The digital proof was a bit delayed getting to me from when the website quoted me, so I reached out to customer service. They immediately upgraded my shipping method to rush overnight because I was concerned I would not get them in enough time to send out to guests. They also made sure to expedite the digital proof process. I placed my order on 12/30, it shipped on 1/6, and was in my hands on 1/7. Everything was perfect with zero errors.

Huge shout-out to ARI with Customer service who worked with the design team to get me everything on time AND upgraded shipping method.

I will definitely be a return customer of Minted!

Returns, Refunds, and Replacements

These were all questions I had before ordering wall art from Minted.

  1. What happens when you receive your order from Minted and it’s not what you wanted?
  2. Or worse, what happens when you don’t get your order at all?
  3. How does Minted’s customer service do with returns, refunds, and replacements?

I did read a lot of reviews, written in 2019 and 2020, on how customer service would give replacements to orders that were faulty without any hassle.

However, I didn’t read any reviews (yet) where customers were given full-refunds. Customers that were given refunds were only part-refunds (like in the area of 35%).

So, from all the customer reviews I’ve read, it feels like Minted is more focused on fixing the order with replacements rather than giving refunds. (But, again, this is only based on the reviews I read. Please remember this doesn’t mean this info is 100% correct or complete.)

I would recommend Minted to anyone looking for a quality purchase from a company that stands by their products and wants to ensure each customer is 100% satisfied with their purchase.

As for returns, I didn’t read reviews where the customer mentioned that they had to return items in the mail in order to get a replacement on faulty items. A picture of the item is all they need.


When compared to other e-commerce sites that offer the same kind of product, Minted’s prices can be a little more pricey. However, I feel like Minted’s prices are fair because their products are really high-quality.

I was hesitant to go with Minted at first just because they were more expensive than other places that I was looking. I am SO GLAD that I ended up going with them! I sent out all of my invitations and half of them got lost in the mail. I reached out to them to see if this had happened before and what to do. They ended up sending me a new batch of invitations and envelopes for free! I was blown away and am now a forever customer.

Quality: What Went Wrong

In 2019 and 2020, most customers had great things to say about the quality of the products they received. It’s really become obvious to me that Minted is putting a real effort in bringing high-quality products to its customers.

We used Minted for our wedding website, table numbers, place cards, menus and favor thank you tags for our destination wedding in Sicily. The design we choose is absolutely stunning and fit in perfectly with our theme. The quality is outstanding and the process was super easy. I wouldn’t hesitate to order from Minted again.

But wait!

What about the stuff that went wrong?

I love to read what people don’t like about a company’s products and what really annoyed or angered them. Is that so wrong?

I just believe that you can’t be a savvy shopper unless you know all the stuff that went wrong with previous customers. So here are a few things to look out for when ordering from Minted.

Wedding Websites

Although this is such a minor thing (in my eyes), I thought I would mention that a few customers complained that Minted’s wedding websites can’t be found by using a search engine (search engines =,, etc).

Even if you contact customer service with this issue, they will tell you that there’s no way for your website to be searchable on Google. It’s just not an option. So, if not this will be a problem for you, these websites are probably not for you.


There are a few things I want to mention about invitations…

First, it seems that if you put in a special request, and then you select Express shipping, that your special request is not granted.

The invitations I received were great, nice card stock and very clear print. Only problem I had was that I had put in a special request that did not go through because I chose Express shipping. They dont tell you that when you select that, your special requests are null and void. They tell you that you wont get a proof and that’s it. My specialty requests were still on my order however. Dont do Express shipping.

I also read a few reviews where customers received the wrong amount of cards or invitations. It’s like there’s no one to count how much of a product is being printed before it’s sent. And there seems to be a lot of reviews about receiving the wrong product, like receiving the wrong type of envelope.

But my question is always, “Will customer service fix the issue, hassle-free?” And, I can say with confidence that customer service WILL make it right.

I just wish that these issues wouldn’t happen to begin with. Perhaps they are overwhelmed with the number of people who want to order their products? And we are all humans and make mistakes. But I get the feeling that there needs to be more quality control in these areas.

Ordered my save the dates and wedding thank you cards from Minted and both orders had issues! I was shorted 10 save the dates and my wedding thank you cards had the wrong envelope type. I paid extra for a special envelope type and received the regular. While the customer service was helpful and sent me replacements, it’s still frustrating that my only 2 orders had issues and I had to wait days for it be right.

Updated: More recent reviews are making me question if Minted is already in the midst of correcting their quality control issues. There seem to be fewer complaints of receiving the wrong orders in the past couple of months. So perhaps they really are listening to their customers.

Absolutely love how our wedding invitations turned out. We were pleased with all of the design options and the price points. I especially appreciate that someone reviews your order before it’s sent to print. They recognized something different about our rsvp cards and our invitations (although we did it intentionally) and double checked that that was what we were wanting.

There were a few customers who complained that the stamps that came with their invitations/envelopes didn’t cover the cost of postage.

So you might NOT want to drop your invitations in a mailbox (especially if you’re not in the United States). I suggest you go into a post office and make 100% sure you have the stamps needed or your mail may get returned.

The postage we bought from Minted, was not enough postage to send out the invites and envelopes we bought from Minted as a part of the same package… we did not add a single thing to these invites that would have increased the weight and subsequently the postage… Now our invites are getting returned to us, we need to pay for more postage…

In general, while reading over 2600 reviews from customers, there weren’t really any complaints about shipping.

Most people who mentioned anything about shipping said how fast they received their orders. Overall, it was pretty impressive.

I purchased “Moonlit Garden” All-In-One wedding invitations and I love them! Quick turn around time- they arrived faster than I expected! The design by GeekInk Design is beautiful- thanks Eric!

International Duties & Fees

If you don’t live in the United States, it’s important that you realize that you MIGHT get charged extra when your order is delivered to you. These extra costs can come in the form of customs, fees, duties, etc.

Minted can’t determine what extra fees might be added and you’re responsible for paying for these fees.

Conclusion: Reviews

So, is a safe site to buy from? Definitely!

Would I recommend Minted to my friends and family? Absolutely, YES!

The quality of their products is excellent, and it has a lot to do with their interesting business model.
